The 2025 Annual RCAT Awards were presented during the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Luncheon September 18, 2025 at Kalahari Resort & Conventions in Round Rock! CONGRATULATIONS to these deserving recipients! The 41st Annual Winner of the Blackwell Award is: Brad Jones, CRRL, Roof Time General Contractors Brad Jones started his construction career in 1989. In 2005 Brad and his wife JoAnn started Roof Time General Contractors in Mansfield. He served as the RCAT President in 2018-19 and has chaired and/or participated on our Government Relations Committee through several legislative sessions. He also helped make our Annual Fishing Tournament one the greatest industry networking events of the year! Brad is a proud University of Texas graduate and played baseball on a full scholarship. He was the catcher when the Longhorns won the College World Series in 1983 and his roommate was Roger Clemmons. The roofing industry is a better place because of Brad's commitment to higher standards and this award is well deserved. Thank you Brad, for your dedication to RCAT and our membership for more than a decade. The Annual Blackwell Award was established in 1984 to recognize an individual who has contributed significantly to RCAT, the roofing industry and who is dedicated to their work. This prestigious award was named in memory of Curtis Blackwell, who for 50 years gave his knowledge and experience to the roofing industry. The Associate of the Year Award Winner is: Danny Adair, US Ply, Inc. Danny Adair has long and impressive career in the roofing industry. He got his start working in his father’s sheet metal company in the 60’s and by 1975, they had started a roofing division. Danny later negotiated the rights to manufacture and build the first APP modified bitumen plant in the USA (located n Port Arthur) and went into production in 1982 under the name U.S. Intec, Inc. Danny Adair is a true visionary in the roofing industry and started names such as BRAI, BRAI-FLEX, Mini BRAI, MDrain, MVent and Drill-Tec fasteners. As President of U.S. Intec, Inc., Danny took the company public on NASDAQ. In 1998, he stepped down as President and begin serving as a consultant to GAF. Always the entrepreneur, in 2004, Danny acquired U.S. Single Ply. from Texas Refinery Corporation and changed the name to U.S. Ply based in Fort Worth, TX. Danny Adair has built and/or operated more than twelve manufacturing operations over a 40 year span! The Associate of the Year Award was created to honor a non-contractor industry service provider that has made a career of excellent service, has contributed significantly to our association, and who’s knowledge and experience helped improve the roofing industry. The Foundation of Excellence Award Winner is: Cindy Gebbia,Thermafoam Cindy Gebbia's journey in the roofing industry began in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1989 when she joined All American Home Improvements. From there, she transitioned into distribution, working in commercial sales for for RSI Group, ABC Supply and then JEH, where she helped them expand and open new locations in St. Louis, Chicago, and Maryland. After years of travel between multiple states, she settled in Dallas, and found a permanent home at Thermafoam in 2008. She continues to lead and excel in outside sales there today. Cindy's generosity, dedication, and enthusiasm for the roofing industry in Texas are unparalleled. She is a steadfast supporter of RCAT and NTRCA and never misses an industry event or an opportunity to help out. Thank you Cindy, for the countless volunteer hours and bringing joy to any room! The Foundation of Excellence Award was established in 2012 to recognize and honor those individuals who have served the roofing industry and have shown many years of dedication. The President's Gavel Award Winner is: Gary Boyd, CRRL, Boyd Bone Dry Gary Boyd hails from a family deeply rooted in the construction industry, emerged as a leader early on. Growing up in Anson, Texas, he was immersed in the trade, with his grandfather, uncle, and father managing a successful lumber yard. In 1974, Gary played a pivotal role in establishing Boyd Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky, after a series of tornados struck the area. Through dedication and astute leadership, he eventually relocated the company back to Texas, founding Boyd Bone Dry Roofing. As the current Owner, Gary's unwavering commitment to quality has paved the way for his daughter, Jeanne Boyd Curtis, to become the future President and Owner. Together, they ensure the company's ongoing success and uphold a legacy of excellence in the construction industry. Each year the outgoing RCAT President has the opportunity to present a special award to someone who they feel has contributed greatly to the association during their term.
