Dear Members, As my term as President of RCAT comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude for the trust and support you have shown me throughout my time in this role. It has been a true honor to lead such a vibrant, dedicated, and inspiring group of professionals. Looking back on the past 4 years on the Executive Board, I am proud of the progress we have made together. RCAT is stronger today because of the collective efforts of our volunteers filling the board, and committees, but most importantly, you—our members! Here are some key highlights of the state of the organization: RCAT Foundation: The name of the scholarship program was successfully renamed, and we added trade/technical school category. This year is our record year of $51,750.00 to 27 recipients. Within the recipients we awarded our first annual $5,000 award for a “Future Leader in the Construction Industry” for an applicant whose primary study is in Construction. Fishing Tournament: We had a nice new location in April where 360 anglers participated and awarded $30K in prizes! Membership Growth: We are 800 Strong! And we continue to reflect the relevance and value that our association continues to provide to professionals in the roofing industry. RCAT Licensing: I’m proud to say we have 320 participating companies. We have launched new initiatives such as Wind Training that affect Texas Coastal Areas and continue to record the training during the Annual Conference for all License Holders to easily obtain 8 hours of CEUs, which has enhanced the professional development of our members and broadened our impact in the construction sector. Financial Stability: In January of 2025 RCAT will be celebrating our 50th Year! Thanks to prudent financial management and successful fundraising efforts, RCAT is in a stable financial position, allowing us to invest in new programs, expand our offerings, and secure the future of the organization. Government Relations: We have strengthened our relationships with Legislators at the Texas Capital; however, we encourage all RCAT members to complete the legislative survey that RCAT will send out for preparation for the 2025 session. While we have made great strides, there are still challenges ahead that the organization must address. The rapidly changing landscape in the roofing industry presents both risks and opportunities. Our continued focus must be on: Adapting to Change: We must remain agile and responsive to changes in technology, regulations, and industry standards to ensure we continue to provide relevant support to our members. Member Engagement: Although we’ve grown in numbers, engaging all members effectively remains critical. We need to build on our successes by fostering a deeper connection with our members through more personalized outreach and offerings. Sustainability: Long-term financial sustainability and resource allocation will be key to maintaining the organization’s impact and reach. As I step down from the role of President, I am confident that RCAT is in good hands. The incoming leadership team is highly capable and committed to carrying forward our mission. I am excited to see the future of the organization under their stewardship. I would like to thank the Board of Directors, our hardworking Executive Director Sarah Ramon and her Staff, and all of you for the trust you placed in me to serve as President. It has been an incredible journey, and I leave this position with immense pride in what we have accomplished together. Although my term will be ending, I remain committed to supporting RCAT as a member and advocate. I encourage each of you to stay engaged and continue contributing to the growth and success of this remarkable organization. Thank you once again for this incredible opportunity. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for RCAT. With sincere gratitude and best wishes, Holly L Green, CRRL 2023-2024 RCAT President
